Asus Has New Xonar Essence STX PCI-express Range

Asus’ foray into the world of sound cards has yielded its latest crop – the Xonar Essence STX PCI-express range that claims to offer high quality audio performance, while its special integrated headphone amplifier is able to deliver less than 0.001% distortion to accompany its industry-leading 124dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). Other features of the new range include :-

  • Hyper-ground technology
  • EMI Shield design
  • AV100 high-definition sound processor
  • 24-bit Burr Brown PCM 1792A D-A converters
  • Nichicon Fine Gold capacitors
  • Optical digital output
  • Two pairs of RCA jacks
  • Input and output 6.3mm stereo jacks

Driver support consists of ASIO 2.0, Dolby Digital Live, Headphone, Virtual Speaker and Pro-Logic II home theater sound technologies. Gamers are not left out either, since these new cards will work peachy keen with DS3D GX2.5 3D gaming engines. There is no word on availability, and neither do we have any idea on pricing. All we do know is the Xonar Essence STX cards will work with X1 through to X16 PCIe slots in systems powered by Windows Vista, XP or XP Media Center 2005 operating systems.
