Viliv X70 Communication MID

Viliv seems to be pretty big on the MID market, letting loose the X70 productivity MID model on the masses with the following specifications :-

• Intel Atom Silverthorne Z520 1.33GHz processor
• 1GB RAM
• 8GB/16GB SSD
• 30GB/60GB hard drive
• 7″ 1,024 × 600 LCD touchscreen display
• Integrated WiMAX, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity
• SiRF Star III GPS chipset
• SD/SDHC memory card slot
• Stereo speakers
• Integrated microphone

You can choose to have it run on Windows XP or Linux. I’m not quite sure where to place this device, it probably resides in no-man’s land. Definitely not powerful enough to perform more serious computing tasks on the go compared to a more powerful netbook, but neither is it as weak as a mere Personal Information Management device. Guess we’ll just have to let market forces decide on this one.
