Amex Digital has just launched its BDR-S1/BDR-T28 4X_Blu-ray Recorder that is USB-powered, and will put a smile on Mac users’ faces who disagree with Apple’s policy when it comes to having an optional Blu-ray drive in their line of MacBooks and MacBook Pros. Available in black and white colors, this portable drive features the green ECO S.M.A.R.T technolgoy that is touted to maximize battery life by up to 40% and STAT Drive with 30% faster data transfer rate. Liquid Crystal Tilt/Blur Compensator also helps play and record to discs more reliably. There is no word on pricing as at press time though.
