ViewSonic Offers SRS TruSurround XT On HDTVs

ViewSonic is a well known name when it comes to budget HDTVs, and this time round they’re enhancing their offerings by including SRS TruSurround XT on their new 16″ and 24″ HDTV lineup for the year. The inclusion of such technology is tipped to produce a remarkable surround sound experience available simply through built-in TV stereo speakers. Listeners can now sense “phantom” speakers extended to surround them for a rather unorthodox surround sound experience, where deep bass and clear definition are thrown in without the need for additional wires or speakers. We take such claims with a grain of salt as no matter how good such technology is, it will never be able to defeat dedicated surround sound systems, so get this only if you’re on a tight budget and live in an extremely cramped apartment.
