With the proliferation of email and many other methods to stay in touch with family and friends, who uses postcards anymore? Surely it is a dying business, but then again you never know what might actually remain trendy in Japan. Casio’s latest two devices are Postcard Makers, namely the PCP-300 and PCP-1300. We’ll concentrate on the latter since that’s where all the gravy is, featuring a 7″ touchscreen display alongside a QWERTY keyboard, a bevy of memory card slots to cater to cards from most digital cameras, alongside the ability to display your image on screen to see real-time changes as you tweak it before saving and printing it out as a postcard – all done without the need for a computer as a middleman. No word on pricing though.
