Sony Xplod line expands

Sony explodes (pardon the pun) four new Xplod in-dash CD Receivers that are all compatible with Radio Data System (RDS) technology. This means compatible FM radio stations can send artist and song information which will then be shown on the head unit’s display. The higher end CDX-GT640UI and the CDX-GT540UI receivers will feature USB and auxiliary input on the front portion, making it able to handle iPods, iPhones and other portable audio players directly while providing a charge as additional service. Popular audio file formats are supported including MP3 and WMA, while satellite and HD radio modules can be easily integrated. As for the CDX-GT340 and GT240, both models come with a front auxiliary input and ship with a remote control. Available sometime next month, the CDX-GT640UI, CDX-GT540UI, CDX-GT340 and CDX-GT240 will retail for $160, $140, $100 and $80, respectively.
