Samsung EX1 digital camera with AMOLED display hits Europe

Samsung’s EX1 digital camera is the first to hit Europe, where it boasts a 3″ AMOLED display. Available for around 449 Euros, the Samsung EX1 will feature a 10-megapixel sensor, the aforementioned 3″ swiveling AMOLED display that allows you to take photos in a more creative manner, 3x zoom, digital video recording at VGA resolution at 30fps and an optical Image Stabilizer. AMOLED: stands for Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode, is a display technology in which an electro-luminescent organic compound (organic=contains Carbon) is used to light up pixels. Active Matrix refers to a technique to control the pixels and sub-pixels (RGB components) state which was introduced in the mid-70s. Active Matrix is used with many kinds of displays, but the most famous are TFT LCD and AMOLED.
