Could the unavailability of the 6-inch Kindle on Amazon’s website point towards the impending release of a next generation Kindle which has long been rumored to ship sometime next month? This is the first shortage of its kind since last year, where it also does not come with an estimated in-stock date. This could be due to the recent price drop to $189 that resulted in a sales spike shortly after that. Hopefully the next generation Kindle will be something worth writing about, and one that will offer some competition to the Apple iPad which has certainly done gangbusters since it was released less than half a year ago.
