AT&T to make their 3G upload speeds right

AT&T has had problems with its slow upload speeds over its 3G network, and recently announced that they are working to fix this bug. Alcatel-Lucent managed to come up with a patch which restores upload speeds on the iPhone 4 as well as other devices which support faster HSUPA upload speeds. This fix should be available throughout the affected areas within a fortnight at best, and 3 weeks at worst. When the bug first hit, it triggered off quite an alarm earlier this month as speeds dropped from 1Mbps or more to a mere fraction of the regular speed. Since a handful of cell sites are not controlled by the Alcatel-Lucent hardware, folks living in those areas did not notice any drop in speed at all. Good to know that things are being fixed.
