Kaleidescape Introduces Its First User Interface For Children

Kaleidescape Inc, the market leader in movie servers has introduced the industry’s first user interface designed specifically for young children that can be utilized via the Kaleidescape System and Kaleidescape Child Remote. The concept itself is pretty simple, as the system will present a different user interface to the user, depending on which remote control is used. When the Child Remote is used, the on-screen user interface will switch to a simplified child user interface which only offers pure graphical navigation of movie covers and will only present content that has been approved of by parents. When any other controller is used, the user interface will revert to the original on-screen user interface. The user interface is a feature of the Kaleidescape Entertainment Appliance Operating System (KEAOS) version 4.0 and Kaleidescape systems connected to the Internet will automatically receive this update by October 2010. The Kaleidescape Child Remote (pictured after the jump) is already available for $39 in the US.
