If the Literati color eBook reader from Shaper Image caught your attention when it was unveiled a month back, the good news is that it has taken a step closer to arriving at stores near you, as it has paid a visit to the FCC. Internal/external pictures of the device, along with a user manual have been made available. In case you aren’t familiar with it, the Literati relies on Kobo’s eBook reader OS, and allows users to purchase books from the Kobo eBook store via Wi-Fi, as the device lacks a built-in 3G modem. If color eBook reading is for you, the device’s 7-inch color LCD display should be able to satisfy you, though it remains to be seen how severely the LCD display will affect battery life. The Literati reader will be released in October for $159, so you might want to start saving your pennies now.
