For the longest time ever, Bose’s QuietComfort series was one of the best options you had when it came to noise cancelling headphones, but then Sony came along with its WH-1000XM series and kind of evened the playing field, although some might argue that they have since usurped Bose’s position.

That being said, it seems that Bose is planning a comeback because according to an FCC filing, it looks like the company is readying its next pair of noise cancelling headphones in the form of the QuietComfort 45, the successor to the QuietComfort 35 II. Not much is known about the headphones right now, but it seems that Bose isn’t changing up the design too much.

However, we do expect that they will probably make some changes under the hood to improve on audio, battery life, and noise cancelling capabilities to maybe better match Sony’s newest WH-1000XM4s. That being said, we are curious as to what this means for the Bose Headphones 700 which some saw as the spiritual successor to the QuietComfort 35 II.

Either way, if you’re a fan of Bose then perhaps these QuietComfort 45s could be a pair of headphones to look out for whenever they launch, so check back with us soon for more updates.
