We had already seen Google’s Nexus S that ships with Android 2.3 by default boot MeeGo before this, but now someone has taken it one step further and gotten Ubuntu Linux running on the phone. As usual with these unofficial hacks, the device isn’t fully functional at the moment with the touchscreen being one major feature that isn’t working just yet. The issue is apparently related to the kernel and will be addressed in the future. There isn’t any flashing of firmware required in this hack as the file is loaded onto internal memory, though you’ll need Fastboot to load the image.
