There is a possibility that Cupertino might just include DisplayPort connectivity support to new mobile chips that will see action in iOS-powered devices – all thanks to a new job listing that is looking for a signal integrity and power integrity manager. Said post will be part of the team that builds custom chips which will see action in future mobile products, and knowing Apple, certainly the iPhone and perhaps the iPod touch will be part of this team. Needless to say, this position requires experience in working with interface standards – among them including DisplayPort.

Just what the heck does a signal integrity engineer do? The successful candidate will be managing issues concerning the sending of electrical signals through chips, circuit boards, and interconnects between devices, working to prevent crosstalk, signal attenuation and power supply noise from overpowering data signals.

How much better do you think that life would be with the inclusion of DisplayPort support for iOS devices? It would certainly make it a whole lot more convenient to hook up future mobile devices to modern displays, don’t you think so?
