When Call of Duty Elite was first announced back in May, people were pretty upset over the idea of it, with fans of the game disliking Activision’s decision to make gamers pay for premium content on the social-networking service. Well nothing much has changed since then – the beta version of the service released for the Xbox 360 in July and starting today, it will be rolling out invitations to PlayStation 3 users who have signed up to be a beta tester.
I guess now, PlayStation 3 owners will get to test the service out before they decide whether it’s going to be worth the $50/year fee or not. PC players won’t get a chance to test it out, but the service will launch together with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 later this year. Any of you got into the Xbox 360/PS3 beta for CoD Elite? Let us know what you think about it so far. For folks who want to sign up for the beta, just head over to the CoD Elite website.
