If you’re in the market for a pair of supposedly audiophile quality earbuds, Westone may have just what you need in the form of the Westone 4 R-series earbuds, but just like many audiophile grade products, be prepared to fork out quite a bit of money for these.

These pair of earbuds are built on Westone’s unique four driver balanced armature architecture, and introduces what the company is calling “Acoustic Symmetry”. Basically what Acoustic Symmetry is about is that it manages to achieve +/- 2dB better the earpieces, which supposedly allows for a more balanced listening experience.

The earbuds will come with removable cables, which will allow the user to swap for an EPIC MICS smartphone interface cable in the future, allowing your earbuds to transform into a handsfree kit. It will also come shipped with a casing made out of high-impact polymer. If all of this sounds (no pun intended) good to you, like we said earlier, expect to pay a premium for these. The Westone 4 R-series pair of earbuds is expected to retail for a whopping $499.
