[CES 2012] Panasonic drops their latest HC-V10 camcorder which is said to be “ideal” for shooting high quality video memories for all time. Boasting a powerful 70x enhanced optical zoom without enlarging the body of this puppy, it will ship in a compact design while carrying advanced features such as Intelligent Auto (iA) and Pre-Rec, letting you point, shoot and capture HD videos with but a single press of a button. Touted to be a ‘go anywhere’ model, the HC-V10’s powerful 63x optical zoom lens with an Enhanced Optical 70x Zoom function will allow you to shoot your subject from up close, or pull in distant subjects for a truly dynamic close-up.

All HD video will be recorded in the MP4 format that allows you to play it back on a range of other devices, while high compression makes it easy to share with others as the file size will remain nice and small most of the time (relatively speaking, of course). Alternatively, you can opt for videos to be recorded in the iFrame format which help make life easier if you are in to video editing. The HD-V10 will come with an SD memory card slot that plays nice with SD/SDHC/SDXC formats, and it will arrive in black, silver and red sometime this year, although pricing details have yet to be determined.
