If you call yourself a serious gamer of the beat ’em up variety, then surely you would have had a go at The King of Fighters (KoF) in the past, although there would surely be those who argue that 3D fighters like Tekken and Virtua Fighter are better. For fans of The King of Fighters series, you might be pleased to hear that the title is coming to the Android operating system over the G-Gee distribution platform. Of course, beat ’em ups on smartphones have one downside to them – the lack of a physical D-Pad, but it seems that the virtual pad/joystick is said to reproduce KoF’s controls perfectly, resulting in a simple, user-friendly play-style that allows you to execute special moves and combinations easily.

There are five game modes to choose from – “Team Battle” for classic KoF 3-on-3 battles, “Single Battle” for 1-on-1 fights, “Endless” mode for an endurance challenge with just one life, “Challenge” mode where players needs to complete a variety of character-specific tasks, and “Training” mode where players can practice the Virtual Pad-based controls and pick up combos along the way. You will be able to purchase the game here for $4.99 a pop.
