When it comes to the world of tablets, it is a straight fight between the Android operating system from Google and Apple’s iOS on the new iPad, and we will not stop seeing new tablets from the Android camp rolling out anytime soon, too. IN Media has just announced that they will start to ship Android-powered tablets with a twist – as these will feature telephony capabilities thanks to the ability to have CDMA and GSM SIM cards ride alongside it. These new tablets are said to open up a whole new world of entertainment, as you can access more than 2,000 Hollywood titles as part of a bundled service.

According to Dr. Nick Karnik, CEO of IN Media, “Consumers can now watch movies instantly using 3G network module built in the Tablet, avoiding dependencies on wi-fi networks’ availability. With thousands of applications available on Android Market, including apps for Netflix, Skype, Etc., consumers can now use the Tablet PCs as a large screen smart phone. The Set Top Box provides wi-fi capabilities with HDMI output to watch 1080P content from the web as well as play Android based games. The Set Top Box comes with wireless key board for all web surfing needs.”

IN Media is looking at 7″ and 9.7″ models to capture the hearts of those in the market for such a device, and since it rolls with CDMA and GSM, these new tablets should not have a problem working Stateside. [Press Release]
