It certainly looks like more and more companies are hopping aboard the cloud storage bandwagon, and adding to that list is none other than Korean manufacturer LG. The company has recently announced the launch of its own cloud-based storage service dubbed LG Cloud and is expected to see a beta launch in both Korea and the US. The good news is that if you own an LG handset, you will be eligible for free 50GB worth of storage when you install the app on your phone. Unfortunately this offer will only last for the first six months, after which storage for LG owners will drop to 5GB while non-LG owners will only receive 2GB. At the moment only the free but limited storage is available but that is expected to change later on when additional storage can be bought for a price. Given LG and Samsung’s fierce rivalry, could we be seeing Samsung announce something similar in the future? We guess we have to wait and find out, but in the mean time head on over to the LG Cloud website for the details.
