The Samsung SGH-i667 “Mandel” is one of the company’s Windows Phone devices that has yet to hit our shelves. Ever since it received Bluetooth certification earlier this year and cleared the FCC a couple of months after, we have yet to hear the official word from Samsung or AT&T which the device is apparently meant for. Oddly enough it also did not join the launch of the HTC Titan II nor the Nokia Lumia 900, leaving us to wonder what happened to the device.

According to reports, Samsung has taken a break from Windows Phone 7.5 to concentrate on a high-end Windows Phone 8 handset rumored for a release in the fall. This rumored device is expected to run on the Galaxy S3’s hardware while running on Windows Phone 8 instead. In any case the photo you are looking at above is reportedly that of the SGH-i667 and was discovered on WPXAP’s website.

The hardware specs of the device remain somewhat of a mystery but assuming the reports and rumors are to be believed, it seems that Samsung and AT&T might have shelved their plans of launching the phone. Either way we will be keeping our eyes peeled for more information of a possible launch, so stay tuned for more updates!
