LG is not really on par with Samsung where the world of smartphones are concerned, but we have to know that it did tie up with the house of Prada in the past to roll out some decent looking handsets that were stylish in their own right. The LG Optimus L5 has already arrived at the FCC, so an arrival in the US market should be imminent although nothing official has been announced yet. As for our friends living across the pond in Europe, the LG Optimus L5 is said to debut in several key markets this month – the UK, Germany and France will start the ball rolling, followed by markets in CIS, Middle East and Asia prior to an American continent release.

The LG Optimus L5 prides itself in merging style and technology in a single device, where the body measures just 9.5mm, which is pretty slim – but definitely nowhere near the Galaxy S3 from Samsung. It packs dual SIM capability for Asia, CIS, Middle East, Central and South America regions, in addition to NFC “Tag & Play” (in Europe and North America only). Other hardware specifications include 4GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, a 4″ HVGA display, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system of choice, and a Cortex A5 800MHz processor – not exactly a speed demon, making this a good looking mid-range smartphone.
