At the recent Nintendo Direct presentation in Japan, Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata did confirm that there is a new Super Smash Bros game in the pipeline, thanks to the good people over at Namco Bandai. That will be a joint developed project with Project Sora as the other collaborator. This project will have series creator Masahiro Sakurai at the helm, where Namco Bandai’s Kenya Kobayashi will play out his role as a producer, where among some of his work would include Tales of Vesperia. This new title is tipped to arrive on two platforms – the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

Other than that, the first hardware revision for the Nintendo 3DS has also been announced, where it will come in a larger form factor, calling it the 3DS LL. Just like how the Nintendo DS XL was also known as the LL in Japan, chances are pretty high that this will not be the same for the international launch. The top display measures 4.88″ across diagonally, where the bottom would be 4.18″ – while on the outside, the Nintendo 3DS LL will measure 93mm x 165mm x 22mm, tipping the scales at 336 grams. It will be available this August 19th, retailing for $199.99 a pop.

We do hope that that additional details and territory-specific information will be revealed in due time, especially at the US and European presentations that are happening later today.
