Dell Venue Pro Gets Windows Phone 7.8 Update

The Dell Venue Pro might have been relegated to being a distant memory for some by now, but if you are still hanging out with this smartphone, it is time to rejoice! It seems that the unlocked, unbranded Dell Venue Pro is now on the receiving end of the long awaited Windows Phone 7.8, giving this smartphone a boost in its aged legs for one last hurrah. Hopefully the Windows Phone 7.8 update would not cause any battery life issues that we talked about before.

It is always a heart warming experience to see how older devices that are no longer in production be on the receiving end of a software update, and even more so when the Dell Venue Pro is relatively rare, considering how its other brethren with a slideout keyboard running on the Windows Phone platform are limited to just the HTC Arrive and LG Quantum. Perhaps it is time to wipe the dust off the Dell Venue Pro and ensure its battery is fully charged before you give the Windows Phone 7.8 update a go?
