razer-ceoAre PCs on the decline? Some are suggesting that tablets are the way of the future, even going as far as calling them part of the post-PC era. Speaking to the folks at The Verge, the CEO of Razer, Min-Liang Tian, basically blamed OEMs such as HP and Dell for the decline of PCs. According to Tian, he was quoted as saying, “It’s been a long time since anyone’s been passionate about a PC. HP’s doing a horrible job with it. Dell’s doing a horrible job with it. They just don’t want to do anything with the PC anymore. Look, HP tried to get rid of their PC division and Dell said ‘we’re not a PC company anymore, we’re now an enterprise company.’”

He also went on to state that consumers still want PCs alongside their smartphones and tablets, but what they do not want are the sort of computers that manufacturers such as HP and Dell are putting out there. While he does make a point, it is a matter of preference and there are a variety of things to consider, such as what the consumer needs it for, what is their budget and etc. Of course at the same time we can’t blame him for bashing on HP and Dell, especially since it was only last week that Razer announced the Razer Blade and Razer Blade Pro gaming laptops.
