system76Intel’s latest mobile processor to see action in majority of the coming Ultrabooks out there in the market has been given the codename Haswell, and this time around, we are treated to the System76 Galago UltraPro which is powered by an Intel Haswell processor no less (it offers more than decent processing performance without sipping up too much juice along the way), with Ubuntu as the operating system of choice. The System76 Galago UltraPro is a sleek new notebook which is touted to be the first notebook that measures under 1″ of thickness, all the while sporting Intel’s Iris Pro graphics. Anyone out there who wants to dispute that particular claim?

What are some of the other hardware specifications that we are able to find stashed away under the Galago UltraPro’s 0.75″ thin chassis? For starters, you are able to configure it to run up to 16B RAM, with the choice of mSATA and SATA SSD (and/or SATA HDD), 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a 53 watt-hour battery to keep things running. Connectivity options include HDMI and Display Port outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, and a trio of USB 3.0 ports. Expect the System76 Galago UltraPro to start from $995 onwards, with shipping set to commence next month.
