kohler-touchlessThe toilet is not exactly the cleanest and most hygienic place around, but this does not mean that it should remain the same for all time. Flushing your toilet often involves pressing a button or pushing a lever, but with the Kohler Touchless flush system, things are a little different, as you can tell from the name itself.

The Kohler Touchless flush system would do away with getting your fingers dirty after you have done your business (large or small), and using it is a no-brainer. You know how those sensor-enabled sinks work? Well, it is pretty much the same with this, where all that you need to do is to hold your hand over the tank lid directly that is located above the sensor, and the flush will get activated. This new Touchless technology will be made available in the iconic KOHLER Cimarron toilet, in addition to being part of a retro-fit kit which will function with just about any single-flush toilet that sports a canister or flapper type flush.

The Kohler Touchless Toilet Technology would be different from a beam-based sensor, where in that system, a beam of light needs to be broken to trigger the actuation. This one will make use of emerging sensing technology where an electromagnetic field is projected to be accurate and reliable. It will require a quartet of AA batteries that is said to be able to last anywhere from half a year to 12 months, depending on the frequency of use. [Press Release]
