facebook-audience-networkThey say that you should always be careful of what you post on Facebook, especially if your profile might be set to public since you could get into trouble for the things you write. We’ve seen how criminals have been caught after posting photos onto Facebook, and we’ve even seen how posting the wrong update on Facebook could cost you $80,000.

However if there was ever a time and place to post a Facebook status update, it would be in this story where a 10-year old saved her father’s life by posting a plea on Facebook. Earlier in the month, there was a violent storm that caused a tree to fall onto the porch of 10-year old Brianna Vance.

Her dad was hurt pretty badly from the tree falling onto the porch and to make matters worse, their cell reception was knocked out too due to the bad weather. However the 10-year old realized that their WiFi was still working and quickly cobbled together an SOS video which she then uploaded onto Facebook.

In the video she said, “The lightning crashed and hit a tree by our porch and my dad’s almost dead. He needs an ambulance, please. Please call one for us if you have a signal. We live in a yellow house.” Lucky for her someone read her status and called 911 where a rescue crew arrived and managed to save her father’s life, where he was released not too long after and in time for Father’s Day.
