worms-battlegroundNow here is news for those who have a curious affinity to the Worms franchise, a gaming title that does not require a whole lot of processing power, and yet is capable of delivering plenty of fun. It is basically a souped up version of Gorilla BASIC, if you have ever played that explosive banana throwing game before on your old DOS-based machine. Having said that, Worms Battlegrounds offers a whole lot more strategic value in its gameplay, and it can be downloaded on the PS4 via the PlayStation Store for a mere $24.99.

With Worms Battlegrounds, there will be an extensive single-player campaign that comprises of 25 story missions to keep you occupied if you love to fly solo, while 10 “Worm-Ops” time-attack missions that have been set across five stunning environments (Inca, Viking, Feudal Japan, and Industrial Revolution) ought to offer hour upon hour of non-stop gameplay.

Your eyes will definitely appreciate the new day to night lighting transitions, while the single-player story campaign should have a script that will keep you riveted for hours on end. There are also local and online multiplayer battles options, catering up to four players, where one can choose from Deathmatch, Forts and Classic and either a predefined or customized game settings. This is one title that will take advantage of the DualShock 4’s light bar, too. [Press Release]
