google play offlineLet’s say you’re planning a trip overseas and you are looking to put some games on your phone so that during the downtimes you aren’t so bored. Now unfortunately there are some games that will require an internet connection, and unless you plan on paying data roaming fees, you’ll probably want to look for a different game.

That being said, it seems that Google has recently added an Offline Games subcategory to the Google Play Store. What this means is that if you’re looking for games that won’t require you to be connected to the internet, then these are the games you will want to browse. While some games are playable offline, the fact that they try to find a connection can cause it to launch slower.

In some cases it might require the gamer to login to services like Facebook and because there is no internet, they can’t even get past the menu, kind of like how gamers were frustrated with games like Diablo 3 and SimCity where an internet connection did not make sense for single player games.

In any case if you’re curious as to what sort of games won’t need your phone or tablet to be connected to the internet, head on over to the Google Play Store to check out what’s available for you guys.
