LG-G-Pad-12NLG has dabbled in several Android tablets in the past, like the LG G Pad 8.3 and more recently, a trio of tablets ranging from 7-inches up to 10.1-inches, but could LG has more tablets in the works? While it remains to be seen, the South Korean tech company has recently filed for trademarks for the names “LPAD” and “WPAD” over in the US.

Now based on the names itself, it is safe to assume that these are most like referring to tablets as opposed to smartphones, although the category under which LG filed it does mention “smart phones” as well as “tablet computers”, but once again the names really do sound like they could be tablet-related.

In any case it isn’t clear as to which tablets these could be referring to. Considering that LG’s tablets have fallen under the “G” branding, perhaps LG could be thinking about launching new families of tablets, perhaps with a different OS (Windows 8, anyone?) but this is just speculation for now.

Either way we guess we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more information so do check back with us at a later date for the details! In the meantime what do you guys think? Can we expect more LG tablets to launch in the near future?
