error_gameIn an ideal world, our internet connection would be stable and there would be no fluctuations or disconnections. Unfortunately we do not live in such a world and as such have to deal with these inconveniences. Now if you’re a Google Chrome user, you might be familiar with error page you are greeted with when you are not connected to the internet.

It basically shows a cute T-Rex dinosaur and the words saying “Unable to connect to the Internet”. Well it looks like Google is trying to make your downtime as enjoyable as possible, thanks to a sighting in the Chrome Canary build by Chromium evangelist Francois Beaufort (via The Next Web).

Beaufort had discovered an easter egg in the Canary build in which users will now be able to play an endless runner mini game in the error page. In order to access it, all users will have to do is press the space bar when the error page has loaded and you will be greeted with the screen above. The game involves you trying to hop over as many cacti as possible with the T-Rex and rack up as many points as you can.

Unfortunately the game will reset when you reset the page and your high score will not be saved which is a pity, but hopefully by then you will be reconnected to the internet and will have more fun things to occupy your time with. As we said, this is only in the Chrome Canary build, so if you’re using the regular Chrome, you will not be able to access this easter egg.
