Andy-Rubin-and-Android-logoThere has been anonymous Google sources going around that tout how the Internet search giant is developing a new Android version whose ultimate aim is to be incorporated directly into cars, so that drivers are able to remain connected round the clock without the need of a smartphone or tablet. While Google has an Android version that can be used in vehicles, known as Android Auto, that particular version would require a handset to be connected to the vehicle, not to mention having a compatible car with a built-in display being the other compulsory requirement.

Apparently, this latest version of Android for cars will be birthed when Android M, which happens to be the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, will be launched in the future. Do you think that this potential version of Android that will run in vehicles will be able to be a hit among drivers, or will it still be considered to be some sort of novelty? The automobile market is a large one, and unless there is relevant and proper infrastructure set up in the first place for a vehicle to have an Internet connection all the time – and a decent one at that, too, is a massive undertaking. Will automobile manufacturers bite on this?
