Looks like Samsung isn’t having much luck with its high-end stores, at least in some markets. The company has confirmed that the Samsung London flagship store will be closed in the near future. It was one of the biggest stores of its kind in Europe and employed more than 50 people, the Samsung Experience store was located in Westfield Stratford City, London.

In a statement provided to CNET Samsung said “We regret to announce that we will be closing the Samsung Experience Store at Westfield Stratford City at the end of this year.” Seeing as how the new year is merely a week away it goes without saying that the store is in its very last days.

At this point in time only the Westfield Stratford City store is being closed. The company has said that no other store will be closed in London, including the one on Oxford Street, a popular shopping destination particularly among tourists. Samsung reiterated that it is “fully committed to the operation of the remaining nine Samsung Experience Stores across the UK.”

This move comes amid struggling smartphone sales which are forcing the company to take some tough decisions. In the coming year Samsung is rumored to launch less devices than before, and even approach upcoming flagships with an entirely new vision to breathe new life into its smartphone business.
