msn-apps

Earlier this year there were rumors that Microsoft is going to rebrand several of its products, such as a rebrand of Windows Phone to simply Windows, and the branding of Nokia Lumia devices to Microsoft Lumia. This September we saw the company refresh its Bing apps and rebrand them as MSN. Those applications have now been updated and released for both iOS and Android, the two most popular mobile platforms out there.

Over the past year, particularly under the leadership of Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s app strategy has shown that the company is not shy of reaching out to other platforms if it means bringing in new users. Launching the suite of MSN apps on rival mobile platforms continues that strategy.

So what do the apps get you? Basically they’re intended to be your go-to destination for any and all news and lifestyle needs. MSN News, Food & Drine, Money, Health&Fitness are now available on iOS and Android, even through Amazon’s Appstore. MSN Weather has already been available on Android and Microsoft is working on a version for iOS.

Those who use multiple devices and would like content to sync between the apps only need to sign in with their Microsoft account, rest will be taken care of automatically. All of the apps in the MSN suite are available for free from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
