destiny-future

Bungie’s Destiny was one of the most highly anticipated games of 2014 and it did live up to its hype. It was the first release of this franchise and while no one knows right now when an entirely new title will be released, Bungie could be working on a major expansion which may be released later this year. It has already confirmed DLCs one of which has already been released.

An image has surfaced online that apparently shows what the future holds for Destiny in 2015 and beyond. Online reports suggest that this image has actually been floating around since October 2014 but only attracted mass attention now because it was picked up by many reddit users.

Users on the lengthy reddit thread have tried their best to figure out what the alleged roadmap contains. It does mention the two DLCs, The Dark Below and House of Wolves, and even lists a major “expansion” called Comet which is marked for release in September 2015.

After Comet the roadmap lists something illegible, looks like Vex or something, and then there’s something new titled Forge of Gods.

One can certainly question the legitimacy of this image but a Kotaku source “familiar with Destiny’s development” claims that it indeed is legitimate and that Bungie has always had plans to release an expansion called Comet.

As it stands the House of Wolves DLC is going to be released in March, Comet might come in September, after which two more DLCs will be released before a new addition is made to the Destiny franchise.

Bungie has not clarified its position on all of this as yet.
