As it stands, iPad users are enjoying Office for the iPad, but for Android users, previously Microsoft had limited the app to users of their preview program. The good news is that it looks like Microsoft has finally decided to launch the app for everyone, so if you were looking forward to getting your productivity on, you will be able to do so.

The apps will be similar to the iOS version and Android users will be able to download Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, depending on their needs, or maybe all of them if that’s what you’re after. We should note that the apps will only work on Android tablets and there are some minimum hardware requirements as well.

For example you will need to have at least 1GB of RAM and an ARM-based processor, and at least Android 4.4 KitKat installed on your tablet. Other than that you should be good to go, and considering that most Android tablets these days come with 1GB of RAM, we reckon a good many Android users should be able to use the app no problem.

Users who wish to unlock more premium features will have to have an Office 365 subscription, but if you just want to view the documents and make some minor edits and whatnot, you should be able to do so without any trouble. The apps are a free download so head on over to the Google Play Store for either Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint.
