samsung-galaxy-note-2-review--19It has been a little over two years since Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 2, and given the handset’s somewhat aging specs, we guess many would not be surprise and have kind of expected that the handset could be passed over when it came to the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

However the good news is that if you’re still holding onto your Galaxy Note 2 handset, you will be pleased that Samsung will be releasing the Android 5.0 update for the phone. This was confirmed by Samsung Poland (via SamMobile) who stated that the update was scheduled for the handset, although they declined to mention when exactly it would be released.

This is actually a rather pleasant surprise since like we said, the Galaxy Note 2’s hardware isn’t exactly on par with today’s more modern and more powerful handsets, not to mention we would have thought Samsung would choose to focus their time and efforts on their newer phones, but hey we’re all for the update all the same.

That being said, Samsung has already pushed out the Android 5.0 update to some of their handsets and recently we have heard that the Galaxy Note 4 in Poland has begun to receive it as well. In any case any Galaxy Note 2 owners out there excited by this piece of news? Or would you rather wait and see the update before you believe it?
