oneplus-one-official-image-9OnePlus is a smartphone company that has a very different way of selling their smartphones, and it does seem to work for them – which is a good thing, of course. Having said that, there are many roads that lead to Rome, and hence, we do not begrudge OnePlus for taking the route that they have decided to travel on. Apart from that, the company might be up to something big in the future, as OnePlus CEO Carl Pei did post a Google+ update which mentioned how the company will be constructing an R&D (Research & Development) center in Europe some time in the second half of this year.

This unique post in Google+ also mentioned concerning the 1,000 job cuts which Sony intends to perform on their mobile division, which could be a rather subtle hint by Carl Pei that they would more than welcome soon-to-be ex-Sony employees with open arms in their OnePlus center across the pond once it is complete. Does this research and development facility in Europe point to future plans for a more aggressive expansion over in western markets? Only time will be able to tell, so stay tuned! What do you think of this particular situation and their future plans?
