apple logoApple, the company that has been slated to hit the magical $1 trillion mark on the stock exchange in due time by certain analysts, has plans to ensure that their massive retail operations will rely entirely with renewable energy in the future. This is definitely worth checking out, especially when you take into consideration how there are over 360 Apple Store locations worldwide which are powered by green power – and there are definitely more to come, of course.

Just a little bit of trivia – each Apple Store in the U.S., UK, Germany, Australia, Italy, and Spain happens to be powered by energy from renewable sources, at least this is what the latest environmental responsibility report from Apple delivers. This is triple the number from the 120 outlets (U.S. only) that had converted to complete dependency on renewable energy in April last year.

Apple does obtain bulk of its renewable energy by purchasing it from third-party providers, although it does take part in other programs such as utility green tariff programs, should the purchase of green energy be unavailable. It is nice to see a corporate behemoth like Apple take steps like these, as it would also encourage other companies to follow suit and perhaps, just perhaps, our planet has a chance to last a wee bit longer.
