ascend-p7-salesThose who happen to be rocking to the Huawei Ascend P7 will be pleased as punch to take note that their respective smartphone is about to be on the receiving end of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, as Huawei themselves have confirmed this not too long ago. While there was no exact release date mentioned back then, it looks like not much waiting needs to be done now that the update is ready to rock and roll with beta testing kicking off in Spain and Italy.

At the moment, the Huawei Ascend P7 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat, and it will get a direct update to Android 5.1 Lollipop which means it will give the Android 5.0 bus a miss. In addition, this is not just an operating system update, but it will also deliver the spanking new EMUI 3.1 over to the Huawei P7 as well.

Those who are not too keen on picking up cutting edge smartphone models can always choose the Huawei Ascend P7 over the newer P8, as it can be purchased for approximately $300 as an unlocked unit. It is still a more than decent device, sporting a 6.5mm thin form factor with a 5” Full HD display, a quad-core HiSilicon Kirin 910T processor, a 13MP shooter at the back, an 8MP shooter in front, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.
