logitech-k800-plus-02_storyThe problem with wireless keyboards and mice is that they require users to recharge them every so often, meaning that there could be moments when your keyboard or mouse battery dies on you suddenly and unexpectedly which can be highly inconvenient. However if you insist on having a wireless keyboard, perhaps Logitech’s new Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 Plus might be of interest to you.

The keyboard was recently announced by the company and according to them, they are promising that the K400 Plus will last you up to 18 months. This long battery life is not because of some special piece of technology, but rather a normal pair of AA batteries, meaning that you can swap batteries easily when it finally dies.

Of course this 18 month claim will depend on how often you use the keyboard. If you were to use it non-stop everyday, we reckon you’d probably not get to 18 months, but if you use it sporadically, then perhaps it might. This also makes sense considering that Logitech is positioning the keyboard as one used in your living room, perhaps with a smart TV.

It will feature an integrated touchpad with multitouch support, meaning that you can use it on your lap comfortably and navigate the screen without the need for a separate mouse. It has a wireless receiver which will plug into the USB port on your TV, computer, or multimedia device. The K400 Plus is priced at $40 and can be ordered via Logitech’s website.
