Here is a joyful announcement for T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3 users, the device is about to receive the Lollipop update.

Des Smith, Senior Product Manager T-mobile, announced on Twitter that Sony Xperia Z3 is all set to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop today, around midnight. Lollipop update will add variety of tweaks to the interface, it will bring Material Design to the device, enhanced notifications, improved security features.

This update will also add LTE Band 12 support to the Xperia Z3, the Band 12 run on 700MHz spectrum and will improve the network connectivity with limited interruptions. The update will also allow users to receive the most used settings by simply swiping twice at the top of the screen. Also, it also includes support for the Android TV, and the battery saver feature improves the device’s battery life by up to 90 minutes.

As mentioned in the tweet, the update will be initiated tonight PDT. For the OTA distribution, the update might take some time to reach the device. Users can also check for the update manually, Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update, after tapping on the software update option, a message will prompt on the screen suggesting if the update is available or not.
