thync-fullbleedThere are a variety of different wearable technologies available in the market right now. We have smartwatches, fitness bands, virtual reality headsets, and even smart clothing. However if you’re looking for something that sounds potentially futuristic, you might be interested to learn that the Thync mood-changing wearable is now available for purchase for $299.

As the name suggests, this is a wearable worn along your temple and the back of your neck in which it has the ability to change your mood. How does this work, you ask? Basically the device will deliver waveforms to your brain via electrical pulses. From there users will be able to feel refreshed, perked up, and less stressed, at least that’s what the company is offering.

According to the folks at Engadget who managed to get a hands-on with the device when it was announced earlier this year, the device seems to work well enough at that time. The idea is for the device to potentially replace consumables such as coffee or tea which helps perks us up or relaxes us in a more efficient and convenient way as these hot beverages might not be available to us all the time.

It is an interesting product but $299 does seem to be a bit pricey. However if you’re willing to try it out for yourself, you can pop on over to Thync’s website to place your order.
