itunes12_home_sharingEarlier this month when Apple introduced iOS 8.4, it seems that in the process, Apple also effectively killed a feature called Home Sharing as far as music sharing is concerned. The feature continued to work with the Apple TV, but if you planned on using Home Sharing to act as a central server for your music, you’d be out of luck.

Now Apple’s Eddy Cue did promise that Home Sharing would return with iOS 9 and according to the latest iOS 9 beta seeded by Apple, it looks like he was right. For those who are taking part in the iOS 9 public beta, you should get your hands on the latest beta if you want to experience Home Sharing again.

However if you’d rather not download the beta, which unfortunately seems to have killed off some support for apps, then you’ll need to wait for the final release which is scheduled to take place around the fall of 2015, which presumably is when Apple will launch their next-gen iPhones.

In the meantime the latest beta of iOS 9 introduces some changes and fixes to the previous betas, like getting some features to work and changing some icon colors. If you’d like to get in on the beta action, hit up Apple’s website for the details, but take in mind like we said, this could cause some of your current apps to stop working properly.
