ant-man-sequel

Marvel today confirmed that the Ant-Man sequel will be released in 2018, it has made room in its schedule to release the sequel to this summer’s blockbuster which had a pretty nice $409 million run at the box office. Marvel also confirmed the title and release date of the next movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp is now slated to be released on July 6th, 2018 and will bring back hero Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne.

The studio didn’t confirm in today’s announcement whether Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be coming back to their roles but it’s safe to assume that they will, Marvel’s contract system generally signs most actors for a three movie deal, and it’s quite likely that this is the same deal that Rudd and Lilly got when they signed on to do the first Ant-Man movie.

As previously mentioned Marvel had to make room in its schedule to accommodate the Ant-Man sequel and for this reason it has pushed back Captain Marvel and Black Panther on the release schedule, which are now slated for release on March 8th, 2019 and February 16th, 2018 respectively.

Fans who have read the comic books will know that The Wasp is an instrumental character in the Ant-Man story, it did cause some confusion when the character didn’t make an appearance in the first film, but with Marvel confirming that The Wasp will feature in the sequel diehard fans should now start to wonder how the studio plans to work her story into the franchise.
