Back in 2019, Spotify announced that they would be getting into hardware by launching a music player for cars called Car Thing. Now fast forward to three years later, Spotify’s Car Thing is finally available for purchase in the US if you’re willing to drop $90 for it.

For those who might be unfamiliar with Car Thing, it’s basically a dedicated Spotify player. Sure, there are infotainment units that do support Spotify’s music app, but in case you don’t have one of those modern systems, this could be a cheaper way of getting your dose of Spotify.

Plus it’s also incredibly easy to install and all you need to do is pair it over Bluetooth, AUX, or USB, and you’re good to go. It also utilizes different mounting systems so you can choose to mount it on your car’s dashboard or your car’s air-conditioning vents. Keep in mind that users will need to have a Spotify Premium subscription in order to use this.

If you’re already subscribed then this shouldn’t be an issue, but if you ever decide to stop your subscription, then the hardware would kind of be useless, so that’s something to take note of. If you’re interested in ordering the Car Thing, head on over to Spotify’s website for the details.
