pepsi-p1-smartphone

A rather interesting rumor caught our eye over the weekend, apparently Pepsi is gearing up to launch its own smartphone, at least in China. If you thought that the original rumor was too far-fetched to be believed then you’re going to want to see this, Pepsi P1 specifications have now been leaked, and yes apparently Pepsi P1 is what this device is going to be called. There’s still no confirmation from the soft drink company whether or not this is for real.

These purported specs also originate from China, giving the Pepsi P1 smartphone a 5.5 inch 1,080×1,920 pixel resolution with a MediaTek MT6592 processor underneath with 2GB RAM. Also rumored is 16GB of onboard storage, a 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera, Android 5.1 and 3,000mAh battery pack.

It’s quite likely that Pepsi has teamed up with a Chinese OEM to create this smartphone and that it has merely licensed its brand name for the device, the company doesn’t have a history of making smartphones and neither is it believed to have facilities that can make such devices.

As per the information coming in from China, the Pepsi P1 smartphone will go for about $205 in the country and it’s expected to be announced on October 20th in Beijing.
