facebook-shopping-feed

According to a new report Facebook is testing a brand new feature that shopaholics are particularly going to love, the feature enables advertisers and businesses to better showcase the products, and for customers it provides a dedicated feed that’s full of products that they can shop for at a whim. Facebook has confirmed that this new feature is only being tested with a limited number of users right now and it will only decide after the feedback whether or not this feature will go live for everyone.

The dedicated shopping feed will be accessed by tapping on the Favorites section in the mobile app where the feed will be presented. It will contain products that businesses have selected as well as personalized recommendations based on the user’s connections, likes and interests on the world’s largest social network.

Facebook’s product marketing lead for mobile app ads and commerce Emma Rodgers tells TechCrunch that this is a new way for Facebook to provide user with a single destination for all of the different products that are being hawked over the social network right now. It will lead to a much better customer experience.

It remains to be seen though if the test audience responds positively to this feature or not which will ultimately be a factor that Facebook considers before deciding whether or not it wants to enable this for all of its billion-plus users.
