fb sports stadiumIdeally you’d like to be at home or in a sports bar or cafe watching your favorite team play live, surrounded by drinks, food, and friends. Unfortunately sometimes circumstance is such that you might not have that luxury, but the good news is that Facebook has created a hub in which you and your friends and other fans can chat together.

Dubbed Sports Stadium, this is a dedicated place where you can chat with your friends in real-time. Now we know there are other methods of real-time communication, but what makes this different is that you get access to live scores, stats, play-by-play, as well as read posts and commentary from the experts, teams, leagues, and so on.

So basically in addition to chatting, you will be able to get updates on the game as it progresses, almost like you are there in person. Sports Stadium is not an app, but rather a feature built into the Facebook app. In order to access it, all you’d have to do is search for the game and you should be able to access its Sports Stadium page.

That being said, it seems that the feature is limited to American football games for now, but we wouldn’t be surprised if eventually it rolled out to other sporting events in the future. Who knows, maybe we might even be able to expect it for the Olympics coverage. At the moment it is only available on iOS, but it is expected to make its way to other platforms soon.
